We believe that every life leaves a mark on those it touches—and
that it is an essential human need to properly honor the
lives that have touched us most profoundly. Lifemark Group
provides the facilities, products and services that allow
our clients to do so.
The Lifemark Group…
Lifemark is a multi-denominational company, serving families
with diverse religious, ethnic and cultural traditions who
have suffered the loss of a loved one. Our roots go back
to 1872—to the founding of a 7-acre cemetery in what
is now Hayward. Today we operate a variety of local facilities
in the Bay region, including:
- Cemeteries in San Mateo, Hayward and Sacramento
- Crematories in Hayward and Oakland
- Mausoleum facilities in San Mateo, Oakland, Hayward and
Sacramento
- Funeral homes in Oakland, Hayward, Sacramento and San
Bruno
- Planning center in San Francisco
- Satellite office in Sunnyvale
Operating locally but with a regional impact, we provide
highly personalized and caring attention to each family—while
offering the most complete end-of-life services of any company
operating in the San Francisco Bay-Sacramento region. (Click

Beliefs… Our experience
and focus have given us a unique perspective on the importance
of honoring family members and friends who die. We believe
that it is important for people of all traditions to say “goodbye” in
just the right way. We believe that there is no greater privilege,
nor more satisfying human experience, than to draw friends
and family together in a final celebration of a loved one’s
life.
Services… Our business
is centered on these beliefs. We are known for helping our
client families create highly personalized ceremonies that
celebrate the life of their loved one in profound and highly
personalized ways. Because of this focus and our experience,
we are committed to making all parts of the arrangement process
easier for the family, including:
- Gathering necessary information
- Handling the myriad details
- Creating a fitting memorial
- Helping them cope with grief
A Community Focus…
Each of our facilities maintains an active relationship
with its community. These are relationships that we value
greatly. And we feel that it is important to involve ourselves
in our communities both individually and as an organization,
in order to keep these relationships strong.
For individual employees, Lifemark has set up a special
program to encourage volunteer work in any area of community
service that interests them—delivering meals, working
with youth groups, planting trees, helping to build playgrounds—there
is no shortage of worthwhile community programs to support.
As an organization, Lifemark sponsors two company-wide
President’s Projects each year. Our most recent President's
Project was the Family Giving Tree, through which Lifemark
staff members provided more than 175 local children with
gifts of clothing and toys for Christmas. |
